Scaring Christians is Not Ministry….
Jesus didn’t scare and condemn people, so why are we?
God loves THE WORLD and Jesus was the lamb of God who took away the sins of THE WORLD. The message of reconciliation that we have been given is amazing news! God is no longer imputing anyone’s sins against them! Believer or unbeliever your sins are not an issue between you and God any longer. (2 Cor 5) Repent and believe the gospel.
Salvation is a gift that you simply believe and receive. God couldn’t have made it any easier for folks to come to Him than He has. He loves you. He desires relationship with you. He has good things for you. We receive eternal life like this, “This is the work of God: that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” John 6:29
Men and religion have complicated the gospel and receiving salvation to the point where many professing Christians question if they are even saved and are literally afraid (not in a good way) of the Father. I was there and it was awful.
I used to be so condemned and fearful that I would go to the altar every chance I had. When I wasn’t seeing God rightly and was not truly understanding the gospel I was full of insecurity and fear. I would hear messages and sermons showing me how bad I was and ones that focused on my sin. Messages that kept me always looking at myself and my behavior full of phrases like “are you really all in for Jesus” or “you better go all in and give 100%”.
There was always an area in my life that could be better, there was always more I thought I could do or give, that’s true for all of us. If obtaining or maintaining our salvation is dependent on us in any way then we are all doomed.
Glory be to God that His plan for salvation for us isn’t dependent on our good or bad behavior. It’s all because of Jesus and what He accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection. God provided the way, we simply say yes to His plan and believe and receive. It truly is simple.
Understanding the gospel and grace will produce fruit in your life automatically. Truly understanding grace didn’t make me want to go out and live in sin, it actually freed me from sin. The love and gratitude I now have in my heart because I know God loves me has produced a desire to follow Him. It’s amazing!
A gospel presentation that leaves people condemned and focused on themselves is no gospel at all. Showing people their need for a Savior is great, but we must share the good news of how Christ fixed the problem! There is hope!!!
Jesus did everything for you, my friend, He did what you could not do and He extends His righteousness and life to you as a gift. You don’t have to work for it, beg Him for it, constantly get saved, or prove anything. I pray that you see God rightly and His heart and love extended towards you through the gospel. It really is THE BEST NEWS EVER!
